Our design process starts with curiosity, what’s trending, what’s timeless, and what makes someone stop scrolling. From the sculptural lines of modern interiors to the energy of TikTok trends and the influence of some of our top fashion stylist friends, we draw inspiration from the world around us.

Each collection begins with a clear mood, shaped by our creative team in collaboration with some of the most exciting names in fashion and stylists to the stars. Then come the moodboards, sketches and design trials, refined down to the pieces you’ll see in our collection. Style-forward, sentiment-filled, and unmistakably Athenassa.

Once we’ve finalised our sketches, we transform each design into a technical blueprint. These are carefully converted into 3D CADs, digitally sculpted to capture the exact shape, size and proportions of the piece. We review every angle, tweak every curve, and ensure it not only looks beautiful, but feels just right to wear.

After Athenassa CAD approval, a master mould is created to bring each design into physical form. This mould becomes the blueprint for all future casts, ensuring every piece holds the same balance, structure and detail as the original design.

Next comes the transformation from wax to metal. Wax versions are cast and arranged into ‘trees’ before being encased and filled with molten precious metals, recycled sterling silver or brass, depending on the style. Once cooled, each piece is removed, filed, and polished by hand. Any leftover material? It’s melted down and reused for future designs.

This is where the artistry really shines. Pieces are assembled, stones are individually hand set, enamel colours are mixed to perfection and painted by hand, and every clasp is checked for strength. We call this the ‘dressing stage’, where the final personality of each piece comes to life.

We use only high quality plating methods to give our jewellery its signature warmth. Our 18ct gold vermeil is layered with 2.5 microns of gold on a base of sterling silver. For statement pieces in brass, we plate with a generous 2 microns of 18ct gold. There’s no flash plating here, just thick, durable finishes made to hold their glow.

Our commitment to quality is built into every step. Each piece is checked by hand during production and again before it reaches you. We test for strength, balance, and durability to ensure your jewellery not only looks beautiful, but lasts beautifully too.

To ensure authenticity, all of our sterling silver styles over 7.78g are hallmarked with the ‘925’ stamp. Our solid gold pieces are marked ‘585’ for 14ct gold. It’s a promise of purity and quality, so you can wear your jewellery with confidence, every day.
